Abstract

After the turn of the 19th-20th century even in Hungary more and more emphasis has been laid on the connection between the natural or built environment and the health situation. Health experts started to deal with the questions of canalization, water-supply, disposal of sewage, etc. Improving the infrastructure became partly a health issue. Between the two world wars significant progress has been made: the state got more concerned and involved that resulted on one hand, in the implementation of professional solutions and on the other hand, appropriate financial resources for such developments.
