Hungarian Sociological Association

The Hungarian Sociological Association (Magyar Szociológiai Társaság, HSA) is the leading professional and scholarly organization of sociologists in Hungary. It brings together researchers, academics, students, and other social scientists from Hungary and Hungarian communities beyond its borders who represent the diverse fields and approaches of sociology. The Association is dedicated to advancing sociological research and education, fostering scholarly dialogue, and promoting informed discussion of the most important social issues. It organizes an annual national conference, supports national and international academic collaboration, awards professional prizes, and publishes the peer-reviewed journal Szociológiai Szemle (Review of Sociology). In addition, the HSA actively represents the interests of the sociological profession and contributes to shaping science policy, while placing particular emphasis on engaging early-career researchers and university students in the academic community.
